1. Choosing a topic – the first step that determines
- Choose a topic that sparks your interest – this will make your research and writing go more smoothly. Your teacher will also sense your enthusiasm 🙂
2. Thorough background research – quality above all
- Map scientific databases (Google Scholar, library) and choose from multiple sources - don't just do a superficial search.
- If possible, process/reference at least 5–10 relevant scientific articles - this way you won't just produce an appearance, you'll fill your submission with real content.
3. Make a sketch
- Write an outline with the main points: introduction, research question, main claims, summary. This will help you understand the structure of the paper.
- Make short notes for each point – this makes it easy to follow exactly what you want to say when writing.
4. Precise wording – style and clarity
- Don't overcomplicate it: short, clear sentences often have a greater impact.
- Use varied expressions and avoid repetition – this makes the language sophisticated.
5. Structure of the text – clear structure
- Follow the introduction-discussion-summary structure: this gives the reader a clear arc.
- The discussion section should be well thought out, logically structured and divided into chapters - it helps with focused reading.
6. Critical thinking and one's own voice
- Don't just summarize – form an opinion, raise questions, suggest your own solutions or explorations.
- Make your individual added value visible – this is different from simple source revision.
7. Transcription, checking and formality
- „"Let the text mature" - rest for a few hours and then review it again to correct grammatical, logical or stylistic errors.
- Pay attention to the formal requirements for your submission: font, line spacing, margins, and reference style.
8. Final check and submission
- Check that you have met all requests: scope, topic, references, content requirements.
- Have others read it too – a new reader may highlight details that you may not have noticed before.
